In Nicholas Kristof's article "Do We Have the Courage to Stop This" he talks about how America isn't making any effort to reduce gun accidents and how we are focusing on the safety of things that that don't compare to the deaths cause guns. According to a public health specialist named David Hemenway, "The predominant reason kids are are dying in massacres like this one is not that we have lunatics or criminals- all countries have them- but that we suffer from a political failure to regulate guns". This shows that guns are taking many lives everyday and the government isn't doing anything about it. The article also talks about how america is making efforts for safety for things that are not compared to the gun deaths. Kristof goes on to state "The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has five pages of regulations about ladders, while federal authorities shrug at serious curbs on firearms. Ladders kill around 300 Americans a year, and guns 30,000" I think guns should be banned because we gave people chances to have them but they are irresponsible. Having guns is also good though, for people who have license and need to protect themselves.

In Sabrina Tavernise's article "Obesity in young is seen as falling in serveral cities" she talks on obesity and how is decreasing slowly and what is the cause of this. Sabrina Tavernise talks on why is decreasing even if its moving slowly. Tavernise says Though obesity is now part of the national conversation, with aggressive advertising campaigns in major cities and a push by Michelle Obama, many scientists think that obesity programs actually work." This shows that there is starting to be some belief in decreasing of obesity and people are helping to make this happen and the outcome is very successful. Sabrina also talks on how there are only certain cities who have had obesity decreased."New York and Los Angeles, as well as smaller places like Anchorage, Alaska, and Kearney, Neb. The state of Mississippi has also registered a drop, but only among white students. " This shows that obesity is dropping in few places but majority of the children are white. I think the government should just give up trying to prevent obesity because you need two to tango and the government id dancing with a partner with two left feet. The U.S. is already over populated and by people not caring about their health the population will eventually, slowly but progressively, decrease.

In Hakeem Jeffries CNN article "Marijuana laws just creating criminals" he talks about how imprisonment for possession of marijuana is highly unfair and useless. In one part of the article Hakeem Jeffries talks on how arresting citizens in the state of New York for having marijuana is unfair. In the far beginning of the article Jeffries states "A majority of these arrest only happen in a certain neighborhoods, indeed compounding the injustices unfair is the fact that 88% of the people arrested are black and Latino." This study shows that it is unnecessary to put people behind bars that have marijuana because the majority of these people are only going to get right back out without having none of this put on their records. I think people who get arrested for this reason should go to jail but only depending on how much marijuana they have in their possession when there is stop and frisk. If there were to be someone who was stopped by the police and has over a pound of drugs they should get six months or above. Maybe if cops performed a stop and frisk on people who aren't colored, or Caucasian, more often people of color wont stereotype what and who they are

In Ted Gregory's article "should 16-year-olds drive? Report says raising age would save lives" he talks about how raising the age to get you drivers license would be more safe and convent. In one part of the article Ted Gregory talks on how raising the age to receive you drivers license would be more safe. President of The highway safety Association, Adrian Lund, states "were still losing a lot of teens om the road each year, Motor vehicle crashes kill more than 5,000 teenagers a year." This shows that there would be way less accidents if the age of getting your drivers license was increased. There are also people who think it would be a great idea for teenagers to be able to drive and get their license at the age of sixteen. "Idealistically i think it'd be great to raise the minimum age, but practically? No, there's no mass transit to get to work, to get to jobs," Says Ken Biggs, a chairman at the drivers education department at Schoenberg High school. I think the age should stay the same to get a drivers license, but only to the kids who deserve it and does good in school. By giving out licenses this way teens cant get out of control, and they basically have to earn it. Why are teenagers always given something but criticized about it weather they do good or bad at it. The government should do some type of test to prove all teenagers aren't irresponsible.

In the article "Yay! Boo! So? Reactions to Obama win vary" by Peter Mucha, a writer for Philadelphia daily news talks peoples positive and negative thoughts and feelings about President Barack Obama being reelected. In the article a flight attendant named Barbara Drucker states "I'm thrilled to death, saving the Auto industry and killing Osama bin Laden were key factors that helped the president win four more years." This shows that there are citizens of the U.S that believes Obama should of been reelected. There are also people who believe that giving Obama another four years was a terrible idea. "I'm not happy i haven't had a job in over a year" say 51 year old Chuck Rihl from Haddon Heights. I think Obama is a good president and it was good that he has another chance at being president now so he can show the people who believed that he can and he wasn't just elected because he is African American. This reminds me of a general worldwide stereotype that sticks to the lips allot of people, but at the end of the day IT NEVER APPLIES TO ALL.
In the article "Will climate change get some respect now?" by the writer Nicholas D. Kristof talks on how Democrat Barack Obama and republican Mitt Romney should talk more on weather, climate change and why it is important for us to discuss weather more often, and how the government can care less about the climate changes". In the article it states "Romney's past suggestion on FEMA be privatized particularly ridiculous (that's almost as bizarre as Michael Brown, the FEMA director during hurricane Sandy, scolding Obama for responding to sandy "so quickly")". This shows that our republican and weather control are uncaring towards the weather changes. The article also say "climate changes adds moisture to the atmosphere which may mean that storms come with more rain and more flooding " which tells us that there will be worse storms heading our way and there's no talk or caring on it. I think the government is unreliable because they aren't doing their jobs and helping out the ones who are ignorant to what they know. This article reminds me of two teenage girls fighting to be school president and telling us promises they cant keep or just worrying so much about attention that what we want isn't really important anymore.

Texting affects on childern over exaggerated
In Katie Hafner article "Texting may be talking a toll" she talks about how texting increased and became more unhealthy over the years. Katie also goes over how texting effects teenagers lives.
The article has a couple of quotes from doctors, teachers, and parents (people who study or experienced teenager ways of texting). One of the quotes were from Dr. Martin Joffe, a pediatrician in Greenbrae, Calif., who says "Then you hear that these kids are responding to texts late at night. That’s going to cause sleep issues in an age group that’s already plagued with sleep issues." This shows that the increase in teenagers texting is becoming unhealthy. The article also goes on to talk about how texting affects adolescence lives. Micheal Hausauer states "Texting can be an enormous tool,” he said. “It offers companionship and the promise of connectedness. At the same time, texting can make a youngster feel frightened and overly exposed.” This shows that texting is also a positive thing in teens lives.

Alan Shwarz article "Attention disorder or not, pills to help in school" talks about how doctors are giving children adhd pills even though they aren't diagnose with this syndrome. Some doctors think its is a good idea to give kids the pill "Adderall" to children who doesn't need it. Dr. Anderson a pediatrician states "we've decided as a society that its too expensive to change the kids environment, so we have to change the kid's". This shows that Dr. Anderson is with the idea of giving the unneeded drug to kids. There are also doctors who thinks its unnecessary for the experiment and non thoughtful actions. Dr. Ramesh states "we are effectively forcing local community psychiatrist to use the only tool at their disposal, which is medications ." This shows that there are doctors are against this.

In Neil Steinberg's (a staff reporter at sun times.com) short article he talks about the first man to step on the moons death and his his importance during his life time. In the year of 1969, Neil was the the first man to step on the moon ans stating "That’s one small step for [a] man,". " Armstrong conducted himself as a hero should — modest, self-effacing,
neither capitalizing on his global fame nor seeking a return to the
spotlight" say steinberg showing one way he will not be forgotten in this world. Another event that occurred that kept Armstrong known to the world was "conducting the first docking of two spacecraft in history,", Armstrong lead the Gemini 8 mission in 1966. Carol & the entire Armstrong family on Neil’s passing. He will be
missed.,”. Armstrong has earned many awards and many schools were named after him in his honor!

Cheating blamed on everyone other than students
In Richard Perez-Penas "studies find more students cheating, with high achievments no exception" he tells how the percentage of children all over the world cheating is very high and everyone along the lines of parents, guardians, and teachers are responsible for this.
A professor named Donald L. McCabe at Rutgers Universal Business School, also a leader in cheating research said "I don't think that there's any question that students became more competitive", under more pressure, and, as a result, tend to excuse more from themselves and other students, and that's allowed by the adults around them". This shows that students are pressured today more than ever which results to students cheating a lot more. Another detail that goes along with this is found in the fourth paragraph and states "There have always been struggling students who cheat to survive."
This topic is very influential on children lives, especially the children in america. Children cheat because their either lazy, confused about their work or just unsure. The children who are cheating because their confusion on a simple topic preforms in this activity because they simply don't know how to ask for help. I can relate to McCabe's theory that children are pressured now more than ever. Today children are more judge by their grades than their own personality.
This article reminds me of my present life as a C average teenager. After having to back down on who is am really am my grades actually really did increase, but not being me doesn't even makes me happy enough to see my good grade.
