In Veronica Majerol's article "The New Face of America" she talks about how there are other races being born in the U.S than whites. Majerol also talks on what this means for the up coming economy. The minorities now outnumber whites in 348 out of 3,000 countries around the U.S. William H. Frey, a demographer in Washington, D.C is happy about this change. Frey describes this ethical change as "transformation from a mostly white baby-boomer culture to the more globalized multiethnic country that we are becoming. " This shows that the world need more ethnics to shine more then whites. Statistics says in the year of "1950 white people who were white took up 83% of Americas population, leaving only 11% for non-white people. Statistics also says that in the year of 2050, white will take up 43% of the world, leaving Hispanic with 30%, black with 15% Asian with 9%  and others to 5%".The cause for the minorities increase may be mixed-race marriages and mixed-race children. I think that the increasing in other races and out number the whites will be very negative. With the mixed-race children being born constantly it might leave the citizens in the world with all young mixed children and the older ones will be white, this isnt good because even though it sounds impossible whites might be on the risk of extinction. This remind me of my every day life with a person of a certain race trying to be known and heard or children trying to put their foot down and take their proper place, where they think they belong .

In CNN's article "Give lance another chance" CNN talks on if people around the world from fans to the cyclist community should forgive Lance for cheating and if it was necessary for lance to be banned from professional cycling forever. There are people who thinks is apology is phony and his actions were unacceptable. Roxanne Jones are one of these people. When asked her opinion Jones states "Lance Armstrong, who maliciously lied for more than a decade, who I watched from my sideline seat in sports try to crush the voice of anyone who dared to call him a cheater. No, he gets no second chance from me." This shows that Roxanne doesn't believe that there should be a come back for Armstrong. Others around the world that says Lance should get another chance. "Lance Armstrong's story of triumph over adversity captured the imagination of millions around the world, including people like me, who don't usually spend a lot of time absorbed in following sports news. That's because Armstrong's achievements -- recovering from cancer and then breaking records in the cycling world -- made him a source of inspiration, an icon of hope." says Frida Ghitis. I think Lance should get another chance, he took drugs because of cancer. Everyone cheats in their life and people just over exaggerated it, people need to get over it and if not lance forget about it

In Ja'anai Delaney's article "Civil war in Syria raises questions about when to intervene" she talks about how the continuance o f violence in Syria had led many to flee and the disadvantages of the United Nation trying to help. There are many people in Syria who are affected by Syrian civil war which is making a large part of the population decrease. According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) "over 200,000 people have fled their homes for calmer parts of Syria or neighboring countries such as Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon". This estimate shows that many people are migrating to places next to them to have peace. Some people are even living on a temporary camp base. This fight is between the Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and protest fighters. The U.S is still debating whether they should take action and be involved because of the Syrian army having weapons such as AK-47s, rocket launchers and homemade bombs. The U.S that support the anti-regime group states "they will not intervene military unless Assad uses chemical weapons" I think the U.S should let whats ever going on in Syria stay to them because we are a very big and viscous country that is always in debt and trouble because we are always involved, no one really helps us.

In Ester Entin's article "All Work and No Play: Why Your Kids Are More Anxious, Depressed" she talks about how children play time decreased, and the lack of play time has a negative outcome. According to Peter Gray a professor of physiology at Boston college "Since about 1955 ... children's free play has been continually declining, at least partly because adults have exerted ever-increasing control over children's activities". This shows that parents are the partial blame for the decrease in playtime. The article also tells how having free time and playing is more than just a break for children. Ester states "As children direct their own free play and solve the problems that come up, they must exert control over themselves and must, at times, accept restrictions on their own behavior and follow the rules if they want to be accepted and successful in the game." I think that schools should decrease school time to let children have a fair amount  of play time to build their character for them to have a better and stable future.

In Kristen Grahams article "Philadelphia superintendent identifies schools he intends close" she talks about how Philadelphia school district's superintendent William R. Hite is deciding to close down 37 schools for several reasons. "Thirty-seven buildings would close for a savings of about $28 million, money the nearly broke district says it needs to survive" say Graham. This shows that the economy is shutting down children learning to save money. The article also talks about how space in some schools are a reason for them being shut down. According to the Inquirer staff  "some buildings are dramatically underutilized. Shaw Middle School in Southwest Philadelphia has 193 students in a building that has room for 1,071 ." This shows that some schools are being shut down foe positive reasons. There are few who agree that taking schools to save money is effective and many who disagree with this recession. Mayor Nutter agrees. He states "In the end, it will be safer, better-equipped schools capable of meeting the educational needs of the schoolchildren", while Jerry Jordan, president of the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers, disagrees completely. Jordan states "I am very, very concerned about the decisions that have been made by the school district". I think that the schools should stay the way they are and the government should cut the money off thats going towards unnecessary things. By cutting off welfare and ssi we could save billions of dollars
